They are currently showing this game at Igromir. They are a 60+ strong russion developer. This is an MMO WW2 and later flight Simulator. Anyone wanna bet this knocks the crap outa CloD?.... If you take a gander at the forum itll amaze you just how many Sqns and players you know are registered there

Imagine what your FPS would be in Clod during this. This game runs at 60+fps locked...

Probably it will be entertainining, but looking at their previous sim we can expect TINY maps and as realism is concerned it won't be on par with CloD IMHO.

"Q: What will the map sizes be like? Would it be possible to reach the end of a map and what would happen in this case?
todace: The map sizes are comparable to the ones we have in Wings of Prey. For Multiplayer they are even a bit too big, but they can be used for different tasks. Technically it's no problem to make maps up to 300x300kms or even bigger. For now they are up to 100x100kms, with the standard being 65x65kms."
I have no idea how big IL2:1946 maps were tbh.
Im thinking tho in terms of the BoB map in CloD where most action prolly happens in a 100kmx100km area?...
Im pretty sure the majority of IL2 maps I played online were pretty small aswell...until the modding community got a hold of new ones of course. Its not a deal breaker for me...id rather have a game with small maps that works than one with big maps that doesnt :/
BTW Im not saying this game is a realism simulator like CloD.

Of course the game is more focused on action than hardcore simulation, which is fine. I think they can have such good graphics because of simpler FM/DM and lower model poly counts, the latter I think are still mainly based on Il-2 models.
Still it will be interesting to see how it turns out and what gameplay it will bring, but I think it won't be my cup of tea.
And if can help keep the air combat sim alive by bringing people and a bit of attention on the genre, it's good.

Yeh...absolutely!
I didnt have WoP but those who did gave it a thumbs up graphically and a thumbs down simulation wise.
Maybe this will be better?...who knows....

reinstalled wings of prey today, the game that world of planes is built on, and whilst browsing the forums over at gaijin, it seems they have over the last few months, been making FM's more realistic, one guy has been conducting tests on the aircraft and comparing it to real world data, and he reckons its very close.........a good sign i reckon.

So, for those that dont know, SYN has been ALPHA testing world of planes, and now we have been allowed to talk about it somewhat, ill give me opinion.
Ive really enjoyed/enjoying it, the GFX are nothing short of amazing, really think hollywood, there is a good amount of aircraft to choose from, and the game modes are very very fun and with the promise of far more to come.
It runs really well right now too, considering its still alpha, thats a good achievement, i really do have high hopes for this game in the future.
