Uh-OH.....You know....if anyone actually sees this as being a finished product being promoted at Russias premier games industry meeting then frankly this game is fooooooked. The damn thing runs at 5 frames per second within 200 feet of the ground and then completely locks up at the end of the vid....much to the frustration of the gent playing it, who starts hitting every button ion a painc to get it goin again.
Ok...ok...so its an i5 and 2 gigs with a 470gtx...but hey...that aint a bad system nowadays. Beta my arse....this is pre-alpha and they better get optimizing in a big big way damn soon.....sigh....

I'm starting to fear that just a graphic card change will not be enough for me....well, we'll see when it hits the shelves...

Jed I think one way too see this is that it runs pretty well being Alpha. Also it's looks swell and debonair to be alpha/beta. But it's all speculatzion until we get teh gamnetz. You are right there is a chance this is bad PR. Ricky I allways have tought that only thing missing from Il2 was some fine ladies (until Blissy came along). And lollersson; there really is a girl in the cockpit!!

Well I'm fairly sure Oleg probably has the eye candy "maxed out" and an i5 is a bottleneck for a 470 let alone a measly 2 gigs of ram on a Windows 7 machine that needs 1 gig for the operating system. The fact that the game has the options to bring a 1/2 way decent pc to it's knees is good to me. That means that there's plenty of graphical settings and eye candy to turn on and off depending on what you have. (good for everyone) I just think the game was setup at max everything and being played on a machine that is sub-par would definetely bring it to its knees. And Kammo, nothing looks better than me in my hot pants Ok, SoW is pretty close

I take your point....but my question is why?...I mean isnt this the most important arena to show off your new product?. So why get it so monstrously wrong by not having up to date machinery....seems like a major league faus pas to me!

Well from what I read, Oleg showed up thinking/being told the hardware that was provided to him and his team would be top notch stuff. I imagine if he would have known that they would of had an i5 with a 460 gtx (not even a 470) and 2 gigs of ram, they would have brought their own equipment. I read several posts where Oleg wasn't too happy because of this. In any case, we all know how well IL2 ran with 1000's of objects, AI, and 100 players. I'm sure he's taken the same knowledge and applied it to his master piece. Only time will tell I guess. Exciting either way though
