Check this log: 95.211.37.204/pilots.php?id=504&sortie=21996So I was all over this guy and then he went into a stall. Did not fire more on him as he was stalling out, but kept an eye on him. He get out of stall close to the deck, so I dove in but then he pulled himself into another stall and crashed to the deck. In game scoreboard awarded a kill. Now the parser does not, I dont really care about the kill. I am just trying to figure out the parser. He crashed a little over a minute after I fired my last bullet and as a direct effect of me attacking him. He had a fuel leak at the time of crashing and crashed on central side of the mud being captured. So how close must a kill be to count? Is there a certain time after the last bullet? Or is it only aircraft destroyed, pilot killed that counts? What happens if you fight down low have a lot of bullets in and someone crashes as an effect of bad manoeuvring in the fight?

when you say he pulled himself into another stall, well, the parser cant detect that you was diving on him to make him manuevere, you have to give the decisive blow in order to get the kill from the parser.
in some ways i like it, in others i dont, i like that it gets rid of all the kills when you land back at base and tip your aircraft over, but yes, sometimes when you think you have done enough damage but then arent awarded the kill, it can be a little frustrating.

Repent is right. To be more specific, I think the paser works as follows ( I have been digging in the mission logs once): Every time you hit an opponent this generates an event. So in the log it will say: -Rumey's Albatros fired a bullet that hit nicknack's SPAD Then depending on where you hit, the computer determines how much damage was done: -Rumey damaged nicknack's SPAD 3% If you do this a number of times the total damage % adds up. If you pass 50% than the "kill" is instantly awarded to the player: -Rumey shot down nicknack However, if you damaged him by 45% and then he damages himself by ripping off a wing and thus getting over the treshhold of 50% you do not get the kill instantly. The Master Server eventually assigns the kill to whoever did the most damage (you can tell this is done on the master server, because when it's busy it can take minutes to get the confirmation in). In Vaals' parser this last step is not done, because the Master server is not being accessed. So it's not about time or anything, just about making sure you do at least 50% damage. This is usually done best by flaming the bastard!!!

Check out my last sortie yesterday as an example of how many hits you may need to get a kill. Each hit may only have done 3-5% damage (wings/struts etc): 95.211.37.204/pilots.php?id=58&sortie=21975This was me in a SPAD 7 shooting down a DFW from low six

S! thanks gents, so the number shown when mousing over a hit in the log is the actual damage %, if so that is really neat.
And thanks for explaining in detail how the parser looks at these things, next time there will be no grace for spinning spads .) or maybe there will

Thanks! Didn't know about the mouse over. Yeah, I guess these are the values, straight from the logs.
You can see I flamed my two Albies (see link above). The first hit was 0.7 %, then 0.8% And then 98.5% !
