Heya guys, been playing both IL-2 and RoF, mostly RoF now and got my feet wet in MP on the newbie server. I would like to get a bit more serious about playing online but did not jump on the Syndicate server in RoF as of yet. My question is how much emphasis do you guys put on voice communication and if you think it is pretty much a must, which I expect it is, I would like to ask for some pointers in setting up or joining the ventrilo server that is used by the Syndicate. Sorry but completely new to voice com online, so far it was only text chat for me. Thanks for any help in advance, see you guys in the game.

Hiya Nedlynch, Coms are completely up to you but it makes flying much much funner. The majority of the time we all fly in the same channel even while being on different teams. You are more than welcome to join coms at any time. Here's the pointers for setting up vent: Under the setup/voice tab your output device is what you have for sound - IE soundcard/on-board sound etc. Under the drop down window it should automatically display your device. The input device is what you set for your mic. For instance the drop down window might say usb-mic or could say your sound setup again depending on if you are using an analog mic or usb. The slider at the bottom of the page "Inbound" is the setting for turning up and down the volume of ventrilo. The slider labeled "Outbound" is for turning up and down the volume for your microphone. Ought to be able to connect with that.. Hope to see you on m8.. Expect lots of laughter
